Why Consider a Root Canal with Dr. Tall?

Advanced root canal treatment is available at our dentistry practice in Idaho Falls, ID. If you need a root canal, our dentist, Dr. Tall can save the external structure of your tooth without the need for seeing an endodontist. Dr. Tall has extensive experience with root canals and will make every effort to ensure your treatment is pain-free.

Remain Comfortable

Thanks to local anesthesia and the latest techniques available in modern dentistry, a root canal is no more uncomfortable than getting a cavity filled.

Save Your Teeth

Treating infected dental tissue and repairing an affected tooth with a crown restores the function and appearance of your natural smile

Avoid Costly Treatment

Root canal treatment can save you money in the long run. By preventing tooth loss, you can avoid expensive dental treatments such as an implant-supported crown in the future.

What Is a Root Canal?

The inside of a tooth contains pulp, which is the soft tissue made up of nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. Extensive dental trauma or decay lead to infection of this pulp. A root canal can eliminate pain by removing the bacteria and infected tissue. This can prevent the need for tooth extraction. While a gap in your smile can be repaired with a bridge or implant-supported crown at our Idaho Falls, ID, dental office, nothing compares to the function and feel of a natural tooth.

The Root Canal Procedure

It is a popular myth that a root canal is painful. In truth, the infection of dental pulp is what causes the pain associated with a root canal. Our dentist has the tools necessary to perform a root canal at our Idaho Falls, ID, dental practice, saving you a trip to the endodontist.
Thanks to our in-office CEREC® system, Dr. Tall can restore your smile following a root canal with a permanent crown in a single appointment.

Day of Your Root Canal

Thanks to our in-office CEREC® system, Dr. Tall can restore your smile following a root canal with a permanent crown in a single appointment.

Sedation

To ensure a pain-free root canal, our dentist will use a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort during your treatment.

Accessing the Root Canal

Once our dentist has ensured you are sufficiently numb to begin root canal treatment, he will create an opening in the tooth.

Cleaning out Infection

Dr. Tall will then remove the infected inner tissues including the pulp and nerve structures.

Sealing the Tooth

After disinfecting the tooth, Dr. Tall will fill the inside of the tooth with a rubber-like substitute material called gutta-percha to preserve the entire structure of the tooth.

Crown Placement

The hole that was created to access the pulp is then filled and the tooth is covered with a dental crown which will provide strength and protection following treatment.
