Improve Oral Health

Idaho Falls Restorative Dentistry

At our cosmetic dental practice, Dr. Tall and his staff are dedicated to helping patients maintain good oral health and strong, healthy teeth. Often times our general dentistry services help patients avoid serious dental health problems. However, there are times when our Ammon, Blackfoot, Rexburg, Shelley, and Idaho Falls patients require restorative dentistry services to repair damage or decay of the teeth or gums. When these occasions come up, Dr. Tall has a full range of restorative dental treatments that address an array of oral health concerns to restore the strength, health, and function of the teeth.

Dental Implants

Adult tooth loss is an unfortunate dental problem that can result from injury, severe tooth decay, or advanced cases of gum disease. Tooth loss is an obvious condition that greatly compromises the aesthetics of the smile. Tooth loss also puts the health of surrounding teeth, gums, and the jaw bone at risk. Even the loss of one tooth can throw off the alignment of the teeth and lead to bone deterioration. For these reasons it is extremely important to address tooth loss. Dental implants are the most secure replacement for missing teeth. These artificial tooth roots are surgically implanted into the jaw bone to anchor artificial teeth and stimulate the gums and jaw. We invite you to learn more about the benefits of dental implants.

Dental Bridges and Crowns

Dental bridges and crowns are restorative options for replacing lost teeth or, in the case of porcelain crowns, restoring strength to damaged or weakened teeth. Porcelain crowns can be placed independently or attached to dental implants for added security. Our dental crowns are made in-office using our CEREC machine, allowing us to offer patients complete dental crowns treatment in a single day. Our dental bridges are crafted in a trusted dental laboratory and can be ready to replace missing teeth within two weeks. Dental bridges can be anchored by dental implants or dental crowns.

Another option for our patients who have experienced significant tooth loss is full or partial dentures. Using impressions of the teeth our dentures are custom crafted to ensure fit and comfort. Patients who have good oral health and significant bone strength are good candidates for our implant-supported dentures. Implant-supported dentures offer our patients an added layer of comfort and security by eliminating the fear of loose, poorly fitted dentures or uncomfortable rubbing against the gum line. Our dentures offer secure replacement of missing teeth so that full oral functions can be restored.

While most patients do not like the appearance of crooked, misaligned teeth, many do not understand that this condition also puts unnecessary strain on the teeth and jaw bone and can lead to tooth damage and conditions such as TMJ. Correcting alignment problems not only improves the appearance of the teeth but also helps patients avoid these problems. We offer our patients traditional orthodontics treatment with braces and retainers. Using the Damon system, our braces put adequate pressure on the teeth without the use of rubber ties. Many patients find this system easier to care for and more comfortable on the teeth. The Damon system has also been shown to result in a shorter treatment period for many patients.

Inlays and Onlays

When moderate to severe tooth decay is present, inlays and onlays can often allow patients to preserve healthy tooth enamel and avoid the application of a dental crown. Inlays and onlays are large dental fillings that are fabricated and then bonded to the surface of the tooth, either replacing material that lies within the cusps of the tooth (an inlay) or including some or all of the tooth’s cusps as well (an onlay). Because these restorations are fabricated using molds of the tooth, many practices create these restorations off-site, requiring multiple appointments for treatment. Using the technology of our CEREC machine, Dr. Tall can fabricate and place inlays and onlays in just one dental appointment.

Tooth-colored Fillings

Minor cases of tooth decay can be treated with dental fillings. This simple, effective treatment restores damaged tooth enamel, while sealing bacteria from the area. At Sandcreek Dental we offer composite, tooth-colored fillings. These fillings eliminate the use of metal, which appear more conspicuous. Composite fillings blend in with your tooth color to offer a visually appealing treatment for cavities.
